Funny, I had to read to see where the story was going. Also, I started out in dark mode - green text on a black screen (CRT) and White text on blue screen (Atari and C64). Fortunatly, my ZX81 had light mode (although there are ways to make it dark). I let my computer manage those modes for me now. :)
